Shaughnessy Pool
A heritage-inspired poolscape combining refined materials, modern function, and timeless backyard elegance.
Reviving a rare gem in shaughnessy
Set in the heart of First Shaughnessy, this century-old heritage home radiated historic charm. Unfortunately, this charm couldn’t hide the fact that its outdoor spaces required some serious revitalization.
Complementing an extensive home renovation, the homeowners envisioned an elegant, enduring landscape that seamlessly merged classic heritage beauty with modern-day functionality.
Their dream included a sophisticated pool area, seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and durable yet refined materials that delivered reliable, long-lasting quality.
Where heritage charm meets contemporary design
Working within Shaughnessy’s strict heritage bylaws and complex city permitting processes required careful planning. Our design thoughtfully blended timeless details with contemporary elegance.
Premium porcelain tile patios provided sleek, long-lasting surfaces, while granite boulders, veneers, and stair treads introduced natural textures true to the home's original character. Every material and layout decision respected the heritage aesthetic while offering the benefits of modern practicality.

Navigating the unexpected
As we progressed through the construction phase, we encountered severe water damage caused by a failing drain tile system and years of soil buildup against the house, both of which required immediate attention.
This unforeseen challenge meant close collaboration with the home’s renovation team, coordinating extensive structural work including full drain tile replacement, careful window and door removal, and siding repairs.
Through proactive problem-solving, meticulous craftsmanship, and clear communication every step of the way, we overcame each obstacle, ensuring structural integrity and long-term reliability for every section of the new space.
An elegant outdoor revival
Despite the complexity, the Shaughnessy Pool project transformed this aged outdoor space into a stunning, luxurious retreat that balances old-world charm with contemporary design.
Today, the homeowners enjoy a fully modernized, impeccably crafted pool patio, seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living, and an elegant landscape that genuinely enhances their home's historical grandeur.
This project stands as a testament to thoughtful planning, precise execution, and our team's unwavering commitment to quality. It's a true high-end revival in the heart of Shaughnessy, and we’re proud to have brought this vision to life.
